Ferry and Associates Architects Office

This building was originally built in 1934 and first renovated in 1963. FAA renovated this building in 1994 to an architect's office. A portion of an existing courtyard was converted to a new entry court and a private outdoor space adjacent and accessible to the architects' offices. Spaces on the first floor were reconfigured for administrative activities while the second floor was converted to open drafting/work spaces supported by conference rooms and library/reference areas.

The existing balcony railings were replaced with code compliant railings of steel, stainless steel, and walnut. The existing translucent skylight was replaced with a new gable skylight. Full height walnut doors, walnut paneling and carpet tile completed the interior finishes.

The center lightwell serves as an interior focus and provides the entire space with natural light. Appropriate acoustical treatment and work station planning allows conversation levels of communication between second floor drafting spaces and first floor administrative areas.
